To order a 17 by 22 inch poster from Alaska Ag in the Classroom, fill out the order form. Posters for use outside of the classroom are $2 apiece plus a shipping/handling fee, where applicable. If you are in Anchorage or Palmer area, posters are available for pickup. Posters may also be available for pickup at your local Soil & Water Conservation District office. Email Alaska AITC for more information. Annalise Theisen of Kenai, a seventh grader, earned top honors and prizes for her poster design. The poster project was made possible in part by a grant from the Alaska Division of Agriculture's Alaska Grown program. Other winners: K-6: Winners were led by a brother and sister from Palmer with their watercolor farm scenes. Tobin Sworts, grade 4, finished first in the K-6 category while his sister, sixth-grader Kirsten Sworts, finished second. Ten-year-old Danni Dague of Eagle River had the third place poster, with honorable mentions to John Boatright, 9, of Nikiski and Katelin Christensen, a fifth grader from Soldotna. Mat-Su Chapter of the Alaska Farm Bureau donated Alaska Grown sweatshirts or T-shirts as additional prizes to the top finishes. Posters were judged on their artistry and connection to Alaska agriculture. Judges for the event were artist Shane Lamb of Shane Lamb Studios in Palmer, artist/gardener Brooke Hempinstall of WoolWood Studio & Gardens, Paula Giaque of Palmer Produce, and Division of Agriculture Director Larry DeVilbiss and development specialist Doug Warner.
