AGRICULTURE IN THE CLASSROOM PROGRAM SEEKS COORDINATOR

The Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) Board of Directors seeks a statewide coordinator to build and administer a small but growing agriculturally based educational program.  The position is an independent contract hire job, providing a stipend of $400/month, and it does not provide any benefits.  A similar amount is available to be used for supplies and/or travel.  The coordinator will work out of their home without any support services for the home office, telephone, Internet service, or storage facilities for the many boxes of printed materials that are in inventory.

Agriculture in the Classroom is a 501c3 non-profit organization that gives educators and students insight into the agricultural community by providing lesson plans, for-credit teacher training and special events that focus on Alaska’s agriculture.

The program is being restructured, giving the coordinator freedom to create a new program, as well as the need to find funding sources.

The coordinator should be an innovative individual with good communication skills and an enthusiasm about agriculture and education.
